As I mentioned before, I'm a pharmacist. No it's not my childhood dream. Also not. I didn't choose this course because I didn't get in medicine in university. By the way, I've never wanted to be a doctor. I wanted to be a laboratory scientist. more precisely, I wanted to be a chemist. As Pharmacy required chemistry knowledge, I decided to choose a plan B that was plan A, actually. But I can share this in other post, maybe.
I entered the course of pharmacy and I begin to find out the beauty as well the possibilities of the profession.. Suddenly, I realized myself totally envolved. Yes. I was in the right place. The time passed, and seven years since I graduated, and even today I feel surprized with so many possibilities my profession offer. Developing pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical care, being clinical chemist, working on cosmetics, in industry, research, etc. All these issues have not only a pharmacist, but his/ her life.
When somebody buy any medicine , we had a pharmacist who decided the specification of the active ingredient, excipients, vehicles and package to be purchased. A pharmacist tests these inputs to verify the compliance of them with the specifications. A pharmacist is in the manufacturing, and another one assessing the records. Theres another in logistics, another in storage, and one in pharmaceutical care. Many given lives in a simple box of pharmaceuticals. The same we can say about the lives in all areas of our profession. And with our lives we build a stronger health system.
I was thinking... What I do today has my life. What every pharmacist does, has his/ her life, sacrifices, resignations... and many other lives are transformed through these silent jobs, sacrifices, resignations.
When I entered the course, I'd never thought how happy I would be. today I thank God for providentially make me choose this beautiful profession. This is my job. This is my mission. I wanna be here...
We have many challenges to overcome yet. Plenty non-conforming to apply corrective measures with protagonism. But I'm sure we're on this way. After all, this is our life.
Congratulations for you, Pharmacist, that with your life builds this profession!!!
